Biografia
Hugh Grant é um ator britânico. Grant é filho de Fynvola Susan MacLean, uma professora, e de James Murray Grant, um artista e vendedor de carpetes que administrava uma firma de carpetes. Tem um irmão mais velho, James. Seu trisavô escocês, Dr. James Stewart, foi um assistente do missionário David Livingstone e possui parentesco com William Drummond, o 4° Visconde Strathallan. Hugh Grant foi educado em Wetherby School e em Latymer Upper School e recebeu uma bolsa de estudos em New College, na Universidade de Oxford, onde estudou literatura inglesa. Antes de finalizar seus estudos em Oxford, Grant tentou obter um doutorado em História da Arte no Instituto Courtauld de Arte, de Londres, mas não pôde segui-lo completamente pois não alcançou o grau de primeira classe, requerido para a concessão de seus estudos de doutoramento.
