David Paul Cronenberg (Toronto, 15 de Março de 1943) é um cineasta canadense. Um dos principais originadores do que é comumente chamado de body horror (em português, horror corporal). Este estilo de filme explora o medo das pessoas de transformação corporal e infecção. Em seus filmes, o psicológico é tipicamente entrelaçado com o físico. Na primeira parte de sua carreira, explorou estes temas principalmente através do horror e ficção científica, porém seu trabalho se expandiu além desses gêneros. Ele foi chamado de "o diretor narrativo mais audacioso e desafiador no mundo anglófono". Os filmes de Cronenberg polarizam ambos críticos e audiência; ganhou aclamação e gerou controvérsia por sua representação de sangue e violência.
