François Roland Truffaut (6 de fevereiro de 1932 - 21 de outubro de 1984) foi um influente crítico de cinema e cineasta e um dos fundadores da New Wave francesa. Em uma carreira cinematográfica que durou mais de um quarto de século, ele continua sendo um ícone da indústria cinematográfica francesa. Ele também foi roteirista, produtor e ator, trabalhando em mais de vinte e cinco filmes. Ao lado de Jean-Luc Godard, Truffaut foi uma das figuras mais influentes da Nouvelle Vague francesa, inspirando diretores como Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Brian De Palma, Martin Scorsese e Wes Anderson.
