Manoj Nelliattu Shyamalan, conhecido profissionalmente como M. Night Shyamalan (Mahé, 6 de agosto de 1970) é um cineasta indiano, naturalizado norte-americano. Apesar de ter nascido na Índia, cresceu no subúrbio de Filadélfia, onde rodou todos seus filmes (menos Praying with Anger). Durante a adolescência fazia filmes caseiros, fato que prenunciou sua brilhante vida de cineasta. Desde seu filme Olhos Abertos, de 1998, sempre aparece atuando em seus filmes. Os filmes de Shyamalan sempre têm uma espécie de reviravolta surpreendente no final. A maior delas pertence a O Sexto Sentido, mas as revelações finais de Corpo Fechado, A Vila e Fragmentado são também muito intensas.
